Plays a role in the process of sperm capacitation and acrosome reactions. Probable receptor for the putative fertilization-promoting peptide (FPP) at the sperm membrane that may modulate the activity of the adenylyl cyclase cAMP pathway.
Tissue Specificity Isoform 2 and isoform 3 are expressed in sperm. Isoform 1 is not detected in sperm (at protein level) . Testis-specific . Isoform 1, isoform 2 and isoform 3 are expressed in sperm .
