Function
Force generating protein that plays an important role in respiratory cilia and sperm flagella beating. Produces force towards the minus ends of microtubules. Dynein has ATPase activity; the force-producing power stroke is thought to occur on release of ADP.
Tissue Specificity Detected in brain, testis and trachea. Detected in bronchial cells (at protein level).
KEGG Pathway
Motor proteins (hsa04814 )
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (hsa05014 )
Huntington disease (hsa05016 )
Pathways of neurodegeneration - multiple diseases (hsa05022 )
